To connect a TRIO box with a subwoofer, driver, and tweeter using the TS 800x4 amplifier, follow the instructions below:
Subwoofer Connection:
Use the BRIDGE of channels 3 and 4 to connect the subwoofer. The subwoofer should be a single 4-ohm voice coil, or a dual 2-ohm voice coil connected in series to achieve a final 4-ohm impedance for connection to the bridged output of the TS800x4.
Set the crossover switch to LPF, allowing the amplifier to output up to 90Hz, reproducing only the low frequencies on the subwoofer.
The subwoofer’s power can range from a minimum of 200 WRMS up to around 800 WRMS, which provides excellent results, especially for internal sound system applications.
Driver and Tweeter Connection:
Use channels 1 and 2 to connect the driver and tweeter.
Since both are sensitive and respond well to low power, use capacitors to apply the proper frequency cutoff, preventing damage to the components.
Use of Audio Processor:
If an audio processor is used in the system, set the amplifier’s crossover to FULL, allowing all frequencies to pass through. The frequencies should then be adjusted on the audio processor according to the specific requirements of each component.
