The HPF is a filter that blocks low frequencies and allows only higher frequencies to pass through.
👉 Simple example:
If it’s set to 80 Hz, only sounds above 80 Hz will reach the speaker.
This prevents midrange and high-frequency speakers from receiving bass that could damage them.
💡 Where is it used?
Mainly to protect drivers, tweeters, and small speakers from excessive bass.
🔊 In Taramps amplifiers:
TS and DS series: The HPF is fixed at 90 Hz.
HD and MD series: The HPF is adjustable (usually between 10 Hz and 90 Hz), allowing it to be tuned according to the speaker type.
